On Thursday, the wrestling world was stunned when a lawsuit was filed against Vince McMahon, making horrific allegations against him. In this, it is claimed he, along with former executive John Laurinaitis, abused their position and forced a former paralegal to perform degrading sex acts. However, it should be noted that in the eyes of the law, McMahon and Laurinaitis are innocent until proven guilty, and a spokesperson for the billionaire has now told Deadline that the “lawsuit is replete with lies,” and McMahon will “vigorously defend himself.”
“This lawsuit is replete with lies, obscene made-up instances that never occurred, and a vindictive distortion of the truth. He will vigorously defend himself.”
Spokesperson For Vince McMahonFollowing news of the lawsuit going public, TKO Group Holdings, the parent company of WWE, issued their own statement to Variety, where they seemingly tried to distance themselves from McMahon while calling the allegations “horrific” and confirming that they are addressing the matter internally. Therefore, many are expecting 78-year-old McMahon’s time at WWE to come to an end in the near future, although based on the statement to Deadline, those assumptions may be premature.
