WWE goes international again this weekend, with their annual Backlash premium live event taking place in France. And while the show is somewhat short on star power compared to WrestleMania XL with the absence of The Rock, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Drew McIntyre, it appears WWE has a couple of surprises in store for fans. That is because, according to PWInsider.com, both John Cena and Charlotte Flair are currently in the country. Of course, neither is guaranteed to appear on camera, although it would be a long way to travel just to visit.
John Cena has been a semi-regular with WWE over the past year, and after featuring during the epic Wrestlemania XL Night 2 main event, teamed with Awesome Truth the following night on Raw. Still, it was thought that was the end of his time with WWE for the foreseeable future due to his movie commitments.
Regarding Charlotte Flair, she has been sidelined since the December 8th,2023, episode of SmackDown after suffering a torn ACL, MCL, and meniscus during a match with Asuka. At the time of her surgery, it was reported that she was set for a nine-month absence, although from viewing her social media, it appears her recovery is ahead of schedule.
