Slipknot is currently winding down the year with shows in Mexico and South America. Earlier this year, the band released a photo of Tortilla Man promoting a Reddit AMA. His identity? Multi-instrumentalist Michael Pfaff, who previously played keyboards with Slipknot’s Shawn “Clown” Crahan in the band Dirty Little Rabbits. He’s also a member of the Iowa-based duo The Snacks.

Someone apparently needed to alert his identity to show security in Guadalajara, Mexico at a recent Slipknot gig. An Instagram video shows that Pfaff was briefly detained by security when they thought he was a fan dressed like the band.

The incident happened during a breakdown in one of the band’s songs. Frontman Corey Taylor told fans they needed to “get down on the f*cking ground,” and security almost grounded Pfaff until percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan noticed what was happening and cleared things up. Security eventually let him back on stage.

Pfaff commented on the incident via social media. “I’m not mad…security doing their job! I was just trying to get to the Maggots that couldn’t see me.”

It’s been a busy year for Slipknot as the band released a new album, “The End, So Far”, in September. “Clown” shared details for a future Slipknot movie/series, and Taylor also announced he was planning a new side-project with Slipknot bandmate, Jim Root.
