Slipknot’s Corey Taylor Shares His Opinion On Face Tattoos

Corey Taylor has numerous tattoos, which include a tribute to bassist Paul Gray on his calf, “24601” on his back, which is Jean Valjean’s prison number from the book Les Miserables, “Truth” and “Dogma” on his arms, a chest piece and countless others. In a recent interview with GQ, he was asked about the possibility of adding to these by getting his face inked, and his reply won’t have made fellow rock stars Ivan Moody, Fieldy, Ronnie Radke, and Tommy Lee happy.

Never. I get it, you know? But a face tattoo is no different than a nipple piercing from 20 years ago – 30 years ago anyway. You end up looking like a shitty notebook from high school.Corey Taylor

While facial tattoos hit the mainstream in 2003, when Mike Tyson embraced the extreme body art, it wasn’t until recently when pop singers like Justin Bieber and Aaron Carter made them a hot trend for the Instagram generation.

Taylor who previously invested in an Iowa tattoo shop also shared the fact he actually gave himself his first tattoo.

My first tattoo, technically, I gave myself with needle and Indian ink in the basement of my grandmother’s house, such a dick. Me and my friends would just sit there, and we would just give ourselves these crappy little tattoos. And I had ’em all the way up until I was about 19 when I got my first real tattoo, and it’s such savage early 90s garbage that I can’t even tell you.Corey Taylor
