Have you ever thought that Slayer is too scary?
Well, NASCAR seems to think so, because Slayer has been pulled as a sponsor apparently because of that very reason.
Recently announced was the collaboration between Slayer and the Rick Ware Racing team. Where NASCAR driver JJ Yeley would have Slayer’s logo on his car at the Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race.
Slayer stated that the sponsorship of the car was in the promotion of their final world tour and you can see the paint scheme for the car which is believed to have been approved by NASCAR below.
According to a press release, Slayer was pulled as sponsors “due to reactionary concerns”. All Slayer visuals have been taken off the car, and “PODS Moving & Storage” will now take the place as the sponsor.
Both Slayer and Yeley were thrilled about the collaboration, but it seems that some of NASCAR’s long-time sponsors aren’t big fans of metal.
