Shawn Spears Provides Surprising Update On Tyler Breeze’s Pro Wrestling Status

On July 25th, 2021, it was confirmed that Tyler Breeze, along with his tag partner Fandango had been released by WWE. And while Fandango has continued his career by wrestling for GCW, Impact Wrestling, and Billy Corgan’s NWA, Breeze hasn’t competed. Instead, choosing to focus on his wrestling school Flatbacks Wrestling which he owns with Shawn Spears. And following the news that he recently returned to WWE as a trainer at the Performance Center, Spears has revealed during an interview with Renee Paquette that the 34-year-old considers himself retired as an in-ring performer.

He can still go. He still does everything. But I say to him, “Hey man, getting ready for a second run?” He goes, “Nah, I’m retired.” So I don’t know.

Breeze trained under Lance Storm and signed with WWE after just three years in the indies. And after undergoing multiple name changes and finding little success, he would undergo a complete gimmick overhaul, becoming a pretty boy obsessed with taking selfies. And while this gimmick got him noticed and a run on the main roster, he was never presented as a serious threat despite his evident in-ring ability. However, his tag team partnership with Fandango saw the duo, known as Breezango, become cult fan favorites, winning the NXT Tag Team Championship the year prior to their release.
