Shane McMahon Reportedly “Let Go” By WWE

Shane McMahon returned to WWE this weekend as part of the Royal Rumble, and it was believed he would be wrestling at both the Elimination Chamber and WrestleMania 38. Now though, it has been reported by Steve Carrier of Ringside News that the son of Vince McMahon has been “let go.” While it isn’t known precisely what happened to cause this, there were rumors coming out of the Royal Rumble that many were unhappy with how Shane produced the men’s Rumble match and wanted to make the match about himself, leaving a lot of wrestlers upset.

A tenured source within the company told us that Vince McMahon is also “quietly using the term ‘let go'” to describe the situation… Shane McMahon has been “let go.”

Many fans across social media would express their dissatisfaction at the Rumble match, with some even calling it the worst in recent memory. 52-year-old Shane himself only entered the Rumble at #28. Still, when he was in the ring, he went toe-to-toe with multiple stars, including Matt Riddle and Kevin Owens, even eliminating the latter. Apparently, following this, WWE’s creative team was preparing for him to wrestle either Bobby Lashley or Seth Rollins at WWE’s biggest show of the year, but now those plans are canceled.
