Almost two years ago, it was reported that Seth Rollins was secretly filming for the latest Captain America movie. At first, it wasn’t known what his role would be, although it would soon be leaked that he was playing the role of King Cobra, who is part of the Serpent Society. Therefore, when the trailer dropped two months ago, some fans believed they’d spotted Rollins and quickly took to social media to share screenshots.
However, the WWE star would soon shoot this down, simply replying to one of these posts, saying, “Not me, kid. Sorry.” And now, while being interviewed by Chris Van Vliet, the WWE star has confirmed he isn’t in the movie, noting, “My role got either repurposed or completely erased.”
“I wish it the best, but I am not a part of that film, hopefully it’s successful, but it will be sans Seth Rollins … The script went through a lot of rewrites and reshoots so what I was there to do, essentially, my role got either repurposed or completely erased.”
Seth RollinsIt was previously reported by comic book websites that the Serpent Society group had been completely removed from the upcoming movie, seemingly suggesting Rollins’ scenes ended up on the cutting room floor. This is similar to what happened with Rollins’ wife, Becky Lynch, who was meant to make her MCU debut in Angelina Jolie’s 2021 movie Eternals. The WrestleMania main eventer was set to appear as part of a post-credits scene, yet it was cut because it was reportedly too depressing. Still, it’s understood that the producers were happy with her performance, so her character could be resurrected in the future.
