During this week’s Dynamite, former WWE star Paige made her AEW debut under her real name of Saraya, and it certainly looked like she was coming in to be a wrestler rather than a manager. Yet, a report by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter caused concern among fans as it was claimed the new signing, who has multiple screws in her neck, hadn’t been medically cleared to compete. Now though, Saraya has seemingly disputed this by warning her fans on Twitter to ignore dirt sheet clickbait.
Saraya hasn’t wrestled since 2017 after she suffered a broken neck during a six-women tag match on a house show. And while Sasha Banks would initially receive a lot of fan backlash due to her inflicting the injury, Saraya has since said it could have happened at any time due to the condition of her neck. However, due to her popularity, WWE would keep her, and due to her being part of the now-canceled WWE Backstage show, she even got a contract extension. Nevertheless, she hasn’t appeared on WWE television in any capacity since March 2020, and when her deal expired earlier this year, the company decided against offering her a renewal.
