Saraya returned to the ring at Full Gear 2022 following a 5-year hiatus due to a severe neck injury suffered in WWE. However, despite her comeback delighting fans, the match itself with Dr. Britt Baker was poorly received due to her ring rust being very evident. And now, while being interviewed by First We Feast, she has revealed that if she could redo anything in her career, it would be that match, going as far as to describe herself as “the shits.”
“If I could redo my first match back, I would because I was the shits. I wish I could have been better in my first match back after five years.”
SarayaMany were skeptical regarding how successful Saraya would be in AEW following this match, with only her most die-hard supporters defending her performance. Nevertheless, she has markedly improved since then and, thanks to a much-needed heel turn, has established herself as one of the top talents in AEW and deserving of her current spot as AEW Women’s World Champion.
