Last year it was reported that Santana and Ortiz had fallen out for an unspecified reason and planned to continue their careers separately. Now though, with Santana set to return to the ring following a long-term injury, it appears, based on AEW’s roster page being updated to include them as Proud and Powerful again, they are set to resume their tag team together.
Proud and Powerful debuted for AEW on August 31, 2019, at All Out, attacking the Lucha Brothers and Nick Jackson. The duo would then go on to join Chris Jericho’s Inner Circle faction and be featured in multiple high-profile matches on both television and pay-per-view.
