CM Punk has long used the Living Colour classic “Cult Of Personality” as his entrance music. Rumor has it that he even had WWE commission a new version of the song prior to his return so the band could benefit from the royalties of the track, although the band might have already had plans to re-record the song anyway.

Regardless of the origin of the new version of the song, Living Colour previously played CM Punk to the ring at his Wrestlemania match against The Undertaker in 2013, and according to PWInsider they could be doing it again at Wrestlemania 41. The band was set for a Friday performance at the Fremont Street Experience in Las Vegas, the same city where Wrestlemania is being held.

Mike Johnson reports: “The belief among those we’ve spoken to is the timing of Living Colour playing Fremont Street this Friday is for ‘the reasons you think’, so we can 99.9% expect the legendary band to play CM Punk to the ring this weekend.”

Living Colour singer Corey Glover previously talked about the enduring legacy of “Cult Of Personality” on The Logan Show. “I think if it weren’t for that song, I’d be working for UPS,” he said. “How about that? If it weren’t for that song and the evergreen nature of that song, because it seems like every so often it pops up in very interesting places — with CM Punk or the video games or Guitar Hero or even within the political discourse, where people use it and quote it on newscasts. It has a weird sort of continuing life that I am very happy and very grateful that it exists.”
