The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame has revealed its inductees for 2025. In terms of rock/metal, this year’s class includes Bad Company, Soundgarden and The White Stripes. Also going in under the Performer Category are Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, Cyndi Lauper and OutKast.
Other honorees include Salt-N-Pepa and Warren Zevon in the Musical Influence Award; songwriter/producer Thom Bell, Wrecking Crew bassist Carole Kaye and keyboardist Nicky Hopkins in the Musical Excellence category; and former record executive Lenny Waronker will receive the Ahmet Ertegun Award.
“Each of these inductees created their own sound and attitude that had a profound impact on culture and helped to change the course of rock and roll forever,” said John Sykes, chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. “Their music gave a voice to generations and influenced countless artists that followed in their footsteps.”
Three 2025 nominees who fall under the rock umbrella will not be inducted this year including The Black Crowes, Billy Idol and Oasis. There are also several rock and metal legends still on the outside looking in. They include Motorhead, Iron Maiden, Scorpions, Pantera, Megadeth, Alice In Chains, Thin Lizzy, Dio, Motley Crue, Tool, Slayer, Smashing Pumpkins, Stone Temple Pilots, Blue Oyster Cult, Sammy Hagar, Faith No More, Styx, REO Speedwagon, Huey Lewis & The News, Eddie Money, Survivor, Jethro Tull and Ted Nugent, Misfits, Dead Kennedys and The Pixies among others.
The induction ceremony is set for November 8 in Los Angeles.
