“Rock Of Love” Contestant Passes Away At 39

From 2007 to 2009, “Rock of Love with Bret Michaels” ran for 40 episodes over three seasons and featured groups of single women vying for the chance at the Poison frontman’s affection. The show was a hit and gave Michaels’ career a major resurgence even being parodied on “Saturday Night Live” and in Eminem’s video “We Made You.”

One contestant from the show’s third season was Kelsey Bateman. Bateman made it fairly far in the competition and was infamously ousted when she showed up to the elimination drunk and was sent packing by Michaels. “At some point I looked over during the concert and you were no longer there,” Michaels told Bateman before her elimination. “I think you’re awesome and a beautiful girl, and I said sometimes I have to make decisions for people. And my decision for you is that I’m going to let your tour end here.”

Sadly, TMZ reported that Bateman passed away unexpectedly at the age of 39. Details surrounding her death are not known at this time. Bateman reportedly lived in the Salt Lake City area and in recent years, according to a LinkedIn page, worked in sales for Utah’s Vox Nutrition, a private label supplement manufacturing company.
