Rob Zombie continues to keep fans updated on the progress for his upcoming reboot of “The Munsters.” Earlier this year, Zombie announced that legendary horror actress Cassandra Peterson, best known as “Elvira Mistress of the Dark,” had been cast in the film as real estate agent Barbara Carr. He also announced that Jorge Garcia, most well known for playing Hugo Reyes in the ABC drama series, “Lost,” would star as Floop, Dr. Wolfgang’s assistant and Herman Munster’s best friend. More recently, Zombie shared another first-look photo of a scene featuring Grandpa, Lily and Herman Munster from his view between takes.

On Wednesday, Zombie made yet another announcement via his Instagram and said that veteran horror icon Dee Wallace is part of the cast starring as the host of “Good Morning Transylvania.” Wallace previously starred in 1980s classics including “Cujo,” “The Howling,” “Critters” and Steven Spielberg’s “E.T.” She also starred in Zombie’s previous films, “Halloween,” “Lords of Salem” and “3 from Hell.” “ATTENTION! MUNSTERS CASTING NEWS!” Zombie wrote. “Our good friend DEE WALLACE has joined the cast of THE MUNSTERS!  Dee is the voice of GOOD MORNING TRANSYLVANIA! Transylvania’s 2nd favorite morning show… soon slipping to 3rd if they don’t update their format. Dee is a Zombie regular appearing in Halloween, The Haunted World of El Superbeasto, The Lords of Salem and most recently 3 From Hell.”

A release date has yet to be announced, but it appears the film is coming soon. It will also be rated “PG.”  Jeff Daniel Phillips is playing Herman Munster and Sheri Moon Zombie is playing Lily Munster, with Daniel Roebuck co-starring as Grandpa Munster. Richard Brake (“31”, “3 from Hell”) is playing Dr. Henry Augustus Wolfgang. Catherine Schell (“Space: 1999,” “The Return of the Pink Panther)” is playing “Zoya Krupp the gypsy queen.” Zombie is directing the film for Universal Home Entertainment, and it’s been speculated that “The Munsters” may be a Peacock exclusive.
