Road Dogg Reveals Why He Stopped Talking To Seth Rollins

Road Dogg was previously a crucial part of WWE’s creative team focusing on both SmackDown and NXT at different times. During this time, he would work closely with the company’s biggest stars and up-and-comers who could learn from his experience. However, during a recent AdFreeShows Q&A session, he would reveal he actually stopped talking to Seth Rollins after the former Shield member wasn’t interested in taking his advice regarding his in-ring psychology.

He used to do this thing in the corner where he would jump up and down, jump up and down and run like he was in a mosh pit, and then run and hit the guy with a forearm. And I thought, “Oh, man, that’s so anticlimactic.” Like if you jump up and down and you’re really warming up, and then you run and hit the guy with a flipper.

I don’t know. It didn’t seem right, it seemed like the build-up was bigger than the finish-up. So I went up to him and told him that, and he said, “No, that’s what I do. I’m not changing it. That’s what I do.” I went to Hunter and said, “Well, that kid, I’ll never talk to him again.”

It’s somewhat surprising that Rollins would ignore Road Dogg’s advice, as doing so will typically result in the talent getting backstage heat. However, Rollins has been one of the best in-ring wrestlers in WWE since the first day he began working for the promotion and was clearly confident in his ability and psychology. Ultimately, he would become a multiple-time World Champion and is one of the promotion’s most valuable talents. At the same time, Road Dogg is currently not connected to any promotion, having been released by WWE once Triple H lost much of his influence.
