Road Dogg Responds To Twitter Backlash After Saying He Was Better Than Bret Hart

On a recent episode of his “Oh….You Didn’t Know” podcast,” former WWE Intercontinental Champion and current and Senior Vice President of Live Events would surprise fans by saying he was a better sports entertainer than Bret Hart. Seemingly acknowledging via the wording that Bret Hart was the better in-ring performer but claiming he offered more in terms of entertainment value. However, this wouldn’t go down well on social media, with Road Dogg trending at one point. And now he has issued a response via his YouTube channel where he wouldn’t back down and sarcastically apologizes.

That is fair to say, and I feel that way today, even though everybody has been really angry at me on Twitter. It’s just my opinion, hyperbole is the verbiage of the day, and everything is the best or the worst, and today, I’m on the worst, and so I’m sorry. I’m sorry I shared an opinion on a platform I was given in order to share my opinion.

Road Dogg

While Road Dogg did have an incredibly successful run as part of DX, before that, he was an undercard talent, and post-WWE, he achieved very little. In contrast, Bret Hart was, for a time, the biggest star in WWE and a national hero in Canada. That said, if he had a flaw, it was his mic work wasn’t really up to the levels of his peers of the time, like Shawn Michaels and Ric Flair. Nevertheless, his technical ability surpassed all but a handful of talents in the entire world, with it being no coincidence the best matches Kevin Nash, Steve Austin, and Davey Boy Smith ever had been against him. Ultimately though, it all comes down to personal opinion and what someone prioritizes as key attributes. Yet based on Twitter feedback, few would argue for Road Dogg over Bret Hart.
