Referee Aubrey Edwards Reveals Two Favorite Matches She’s Been Involved With

All Elite Wrestling referee Aubrey Edwards is set to appear for a signing at the Toyhio Toy Show in Girard, Ohio on Feb. 7. Edwards is arguably the most well known official in AEW having been with the company since shortly after its 2019 inception, and she recently talked with Youngstown Studio/Web Is Jericho’s B.J. Lisko ahead of her Northeast Ohio appearance.

Edwards was asked to name the favorite matches she has officiated in AEW. While she’s been a part of several high-profile bouts in the squared circle, there’s two in particular that stand out to her. “My dream match that I had as a fan before I was a part of wrestling was Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Bryan Danielson,” she said. “When that got announced for WrestleDream in Seattle literally like 20 minutes from my house, I’m like, ‘Paul Turner, I need this match, please. Oh my God, I need to do this. This is incredible.’”

Edwards ended up getting to work the match which to no surprise turned out to be a classic. “It was just 18 minutes of technical spectacularness. It was just so absolutely phenomenal from what storytelling and a technical wrestling sense can be.”

She continued naming another standout match from AEW’s “All In Texas” event. “I think more recently my favorite match was definitely Mercedes Mone vs. Timeless Toni Storm at ‘All In Texas’. I have watched both of these performers for a very long time, and I have an immense amount of respect for both of them. And to see both women come together in the biggest show we’ve ever had in the United States, for what they had represented for women’s wrestling was just really important to me. And to be there was something I am so absolutely grateful for.”
