On Sunday afternoon, Trey Miguel took to social media to announce he’s taking a break from wrestling, asking fans to respect his space while supporting The Rascalz. And now, Fightful Select has reported that he has officially been released by AEW, despite having only signed with the company in recent weeks. No reason for Miguel’s decision to step away has been confirmed, and it can only be hoped that he can return to the ring in the future.
31-year-old Miguel, born Trey McBrayer, began training in 2009 and rose to prominence in TNA as a member of The Rascalz alongside Zachary Wentz and Dezmond Xavier. Notably, he captured the X Division Championship twice and the Impact World Tag Team Championship once. Therefore, his AEW signing was considered excellent recruitment by the company, with many expecting him to become a regular on television.
