Recently Released NXT Talent Has New Ring Name

Last month, WWE released more than 20 talents from their contracts, and while the main roster talents have 90-day non-competes, NXT performers only have 30-day non-competes. Therefore, it’s anticipated that many of these NXT wrestlers will soon be resuming their careers in new promotions. And the first of these has been Ikemen Jiro, who, over the weekend, returned to the Japanese promotion DDT Pro. However, with him unable to use his WWE name, he has decided to go by the new ring name of Kuroshio TOKYO Japan going forward.

31-year-old Kuroshio began training via the Hustle promotion when he was just 14 years old, although it would be several years before he made his in-ring debut. His big break came in 2014 when he joined Wrestle-1, and he would regularly work for the company over the next six years in addition to DDT Pro, NOAH, and All Japan before signing with WWE in 2020. Once with WWE, he would compete on 205 Live, NXT, and most recently, NXT Level Up.
