An hour-long film about the final years of Ozzy Osbourne’s life was ready to air this week on The BBC. The doc was pulled, however, initially with no explanation, and was replaced by an episode of “Fake Or Fortune.
The BBC did later issue a statement, however, explaining why the doc was pulled. “Our sympathies are with the Osbourne family at this difficult time,” the station wrote. “We are respecting the family’s wishes to wait a bit longer before airing this very special film. The new date will be confirmed shortly.”
The doc, titled “Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home,” is described as “the moving and inspirational account of the last chapter of Ozzy’s life, told through unique and intimate access to the whole Osbourne family, including Sharon, Jack and Kelly.”
The doc was filmed over the course of three years and follows Ozzy and Sharon in their attempt to move back to the UK and Ozzy’s battle to get back on stage. BBC head of documentaries Clare Sillery previously said: “We are honored to have had the opportunity to film with Ozzy and his family. The film captures an intimate glimpse into their journey as they prepare to return to the U.K. It features family moments, humor, reflection and shows the enduring spirit that made Ozzy a global icon. We hope it brings comfort and joy to Ozzy’s fans and viewers as they remember and celebrate his extraordinary life.”
