Randy Orton Return Update

Randy Orton Return Update

Randy Orton was rumoured to be Roman Reign’s SummerSlam opponent until his ongoing back injury became too much to bear. Subsequently, he was written off of television at the hands of The Bloodline, and after attempting to rehab it, he had to undergo serious lower back fusion surgery. Therefore many fans have been concerned about his long-term future. Now though, there has been some news, as PWInsider.com has reported his name is being discussed internally, which is a first for some time, which can only be seen as a positive sign for his recovery.

There’s been some rumblings about Randy Orton internally within the last week or so, where there hadn’t been any discussion about him internally in some time.

How long 42-year-old Orton is set to miss remains unclear, yet anything less than six months out would be miraculous. Therefore, anyone hoping to see him compete at WrestleMania 39 will almost certainly be disappointed. Although as whoever is the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion post-WrestleMania will need fresh opponents, it will allow a hopefully healthy Orton to step in as a top contender against either Roman Reigns or Cody Rhodes.
