While not yet approaching the prices collectors have paid for baseball and basketball trading cards, pro wrestling cards are rapidly increasing in value, especially those featuring legends like Hulk Hogan, André the Gian,t and Ric Flair. And now, following a bidding war on HA.com, one fan with deep pockets has purchased a PSA-graded 9 1982 Hulk Hogan Wrestling All-Stars card for $132,000, making it the highest price paid for a pro wrestling card ever.
The Wrestling All-Star set from which this card came was released in 1982, and a complete collection of 36 cards would set you back just $5 when first released, which in today’s money is around $16. Yet, due to how they were tightly packaged, finding them in good condition is challenging, and with a PSA-graded 8 previously selling for $11,000, it indicates just how vital a card’s state is when it comes to collecting, with it speculated a PSA-graded 10 card could break $1 million if it even exists.
