The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony was held Saturday night in Los Angeles, and among those honored were rock legends Soundgarden. The band was inducted by actor Jim Carrey who told the crowd: “Spank you kindly, spank you all. You might ask why would Soundgarden — the heaviest of rock and roll royalty — want Jim Carrey to induct them into the Hall Of Fame? Is there some deep, cosmic connection between them, or was the ‘Spoonman’ not available?”

Carrey continued: “When the Seattle music scene exploded, it resurrected rock and roll for me. When I heard Soundgarden for the first time, I wasn’t just excited. I wanted to put a flannel shirt on and run into the streets screaming, ‘My mother smoked during pregnancy!'”

The surviving members of the band were joined by several guests to perform including Heart’s Nancy Wilson, singer/songwriter Brandi Carlile, Alice In Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell and The Pretty Reckless frontwoman Taylor Momsen. Momsen arrived to the Rock Hall ceremony and walked the red carpet in a stunning see-through dress. The Pretty Reckless have been riding high recently as tour support for rock icons AC/DC and also released a new song/video, “For I Am Death.”

Pictures and video of Momsen on the red carpet can be seen below as well as her performance with Soundgarden.
