Elton Prince, one-half of WWE’s Pretty Deadly tag team, has revealed on Instagram that on Thursday, he underwent successful 2-level neck fusion surgery. The British tag team performer sustained the serious injury during a match against Fraxiom on SmackDown in May. Prince noted the bad landing “felt like burning hot electricity” exploding through his neck and my arms, resulting in seven months of pain.
28-year-old Prince, real name Lewis Howley, began wrestling on the UK indie scene and, along with tag partner Kit Wilson, joined NXT UK in 2019. From there, they captured the NXT UK Tag Team Championships in 2021 and unified them with the NXT Tag Titles at Worlds Collide 2022. After a strong NXT run, they moved to the main roster in 2023 via the WWE Draft, entertaining fans with flamboyant antics. However, it appears Wilson will now be a singles performer for the foreseeable future.
