Nowadays, indie wrestler and promoter Devon Nicholson is best recognized for his videos on his YouTube channel The HANNIBAL TV, which has over 300,000 subscribers. Yet, to many, he is the wrestler who caught Hepatitis C from Abdullah The Butcher and sued him because he consequently missed out on signing with WWE. Fortunately for him, he has been cured of the disease, and therefore you would think he was against blood in wrestling.
That, though, doesn’t appear to be the case, as this past weekend, following his match against Carlito, he would repeatedly cut referee Lande Deltoro so severely he required hospital treatment after an artery was severed. A video of the onslaught, along with some gruesome photos, can be viewed below, but be warned they are not for the faint of heart.
Subsequent reports have concluded that the referee had agreed to be bladed to get Nicholson’s “Blood Hunter” gimmick over. Nevertheless, the wrestler went overboard and disregarded the referee’s safety. Police would question multiple witnesses after the match, and a GoFundMe has since been set up to cover Deltoro’s medical bills. Some fans would ask whether the incident was a work as Nicholson uploaded the violent video to his YouTube channel. However, he has since made it private following the backlash.
As of writing, Nicolson has yet to comment publicly, although there have been reports of him blocking people that call him out on it on social media. Additionally, he has since resumed discussing wrestling news on his YouTube channel. Still, he has omitted any mention of his own weekend activities other than saying he was late posting new content due to traveling.
