Paul Roma Reveals His Former Tag Partner Was Offered “Money & Drugs” For Sex During His Time With WWE

There have always been rumors of sexual wrongdoing in the pro wrestling industry, and often, WWE was at the forefront of those allegations. Still, over the years, very little has actually been proven, with many involved seemingly being afraid to speak out. However, following Janel Grant’s shocking lawsuit against Vince McMahon, John Laurinaitis, and WWE, past talents are now feeling empowered to go on record, and among them is Paul Roma.

The former WWE wrestler appeared on News Nation to discuss the current scandal rocking the company and, in the process, claimed his former tag partner Jim Powers was offered money and drugs for sexual favors. Additionally, he acknowledged that he knows of a worse incident than those made by Janel Grant but didn’t want to comment on it due to the victim potentially not wanting to open up “Pandora’s box.

“One of my former partners, when I was part of the Young Stallions, he was propositioned. And he said he went to one of the agents and told him what had happened. And I said, ‘Why would you do that? You just ratted on both of us.’ You know, he kind of threw us both under the bus, just starting out.”

“They offered him money and drugs. ‘Just lay on your back; you don’t have to do a thing.’ And he came running right to me when I came into TV, and I said, ‘Dude, what are you going to do?’ And he said, ‘I already spoke to Arnold.’ And I said, ‘well, why would you do just, you killed our team. What do you think he’s going to do? He’s going to go to the people that propositioned you.'”

64-year-old Roma worked for WWE between 1984 and 1991, and while he was never promoted as a big star, he was regularly featured on television and would be known to anyone who watched the product. During this time, he had a two-year run alongside Jim Powers as The Young Stallions, and they were initially treated as a contender for the tag titles. Yet, over time, WWE began to downplay them, and while it was just assumed McMahon didn’t see them as stars, it now appears there could be significantly more to the story.
