Paul Heyman Provides Update On His WWE Contract Status

In 2021 it became public knowledge that Paul Heyman’s WWE contract was set to expire later that year. However, since then, there hasn’t been any further news. However, considering he is involved in the program between Romain Reigns and Brock Lesnar, it’s obvious he re-signed. Now, though, during an interview on Sports Media with Richard Deitsch, the former ECW head honcho would go on record confirming this and revealed it is a multi-year deal.

This much, I will say, I re-signed with WWE last year. It was a long-term agreement. They created a situation where I would have been a fool not to take them up on their offer. I’m locked in for a while. This has been the case for a long time for me because I do outside projects because I like to multi-task and I’m very ADD, and I can’t concentrate on one thing ever in my life.

I have carve-outs to allow me to do other projects, which is also to WWE’s benefit because I’m locked into WWE as well. I’m always gonna be, “That WWE guy is doing this outside project.” I would never do anything that would betray my deal with WWE because they went out of their way to ensure I was here, I’m happy, I’m locked in, and we’re mutually satisfied with each other’s contributions.

Paul Heyman

It was always difficult to imagine WWE letting Heyman leave as he is too valuable in his role with Reigns, and seemingly recognizing this, WWE has compensated him well to remain. Additionally, while some fans may think AEW signing Heyman in a creative role would be a masterstroke, the belief is Tony Khan is happy with his current creative process. Therefore, if Heyman wants to remain in the wrestling industry earning big money, WWE is his best option.
