In happy but unforeseen news, NXT’s Eddy Thorpe has announced via a series of photos on Instagram that he is in a relationship with Dakota Kai. When the pair first began dating remains unknown, although this seemingly ends the speculation that Kai is dating fellow Raw star Shayna Baszler, with that rumor previously being a big talking point on social media.
36-year-old Kai, real name Cheree Crowley, first worked for WWE in 2015 and signed a contract with the promotion the following year. From there, she would become an NXT regular and looked set for big things before being unexpectedly released in 2022. Nevertheless, her time away from the company would be short, as after Triple H took over creative and talent relations, one of his first actions would be to re-sign the Kiwi and unite her with Bayley and Iyo Sky to form the original version of Damage CTRL.
