Nick Gage hasn’t been working his usual schedule as of late and actually took the whole of July off, resulting in a great deal of online speculation as to why. And now, while being interviewed on Blvd Bullies, the deathmatch icon has disclosed he recently attended rehab, stating he realized he was heading down “the wrong path.” Additionally, he appeared to confirm that his time with GCW is over despite noting that he remains friends with Brett Lauderdale and that the promotion will always be his home.
“GCW is always going to be my home. I love Brett. I love his family. But sometimes, you have to move on in your career. Sometimes you don’t see eye to eye with your friends. Maybe down the road we can sit down … I was exhausted. I was headed down the wrong path. I’m glad I noticed that and that I had people in my corner. I’m glad I went there. It helped me out. I will never apologize for going there. Nobody made me leave that place. Nobody makes me do anything.”
Nick Gage44-year-old Gage is likely best known by most wrestling fans for his Dark Side of the Ring episode, which covered his past drug issues and the bank robbery he committed in 2010. However, since then, he has rebuilt his life and returned to pro wrestling as a big name on the indies and memorably wrestled Chris Jericho on an episode of Dynamite.
