NFL.com Keeps Kayfabe Alive Following Tony Khan’s Angle With The Elite

While Tony Khan doesn’t make a habit of getting involved in storylines, during this week’s episode of Dynamite, he played a pivotal role in the show’s conclusion. This is because after hugging it out with Jack Perry, the returning wrestler struck him in the stomach, sending him to the mat. Subsequently, this led to The Young Bucks entering the ring and shockingly giving AEW’s head honcho a Meltzer Driver, which was recently renamed a Tony Khan Driver due to their EVP gimmick.

On television, this would be played up as deadly serious, with Khan’s father, Shad, even appearing unexpectedly to check on his son. And now, to help sell the angle the NFL has played along, reporting on NFL.com that Khan’s obligations for the upcoming draft are now questionable.

“Tony Khan’s status for the Jacksonville Jaguars’ 2024 NFL Draft obligations could be questionable … Whether head coach Doug Pederson and general manager Trent Baalke can count on Tony Khan recovering from the heinous attack by Perry and the Young Bucks on Wednesday in Duval remains to be seen.”

As the Senior President of Football and Analytics of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Tony Khan’s involvement in the NFL Draft is expected. However, fans are now buzzing with speculation that Khan may choose to sell the attack by staying out of the public eye during the event. Alternatively, some have suggested that he may even sport a neck brace as a minimum, which, if accurate, will show his dedication to the business and kayfabe.
