New Japan’s Alex Coughlin Asks Fans To “Leave Me The F*ck Alone” After Making Shocking Announcement

In unfortunate news, overnight, New Japan’s Alex Coughlin took to social media platform X to announce his retirement from pro wrestling. In this, he would ask fans to “leave me the f*ck alone,” seemingly indicating he hasn’t yet come to terms with the decision himself, although he would turn it into a joke by going back on this due to having merchandise and his gear still to sell. Precisely why he is stepping away from the ring currently remains unknown, although as he previously suffered a serious neck injury, there is speculation that it relates to this.

30-year-old Coughlin broke into the business in 2018 on the New York indie scene before entering New Japan’s LA-based dojo later that year, where he trained under Katsuyori Shibata. From there, he officially became a New Japan Young Lion, and thanks to the promotions working relationships with other companies, he also got to work for Ring of Honor and Revolution Pro Wrestling. Most recently, he had been part of the Bullet Club stable and had successfully formed a tag team with fellow member Gabe Kidd.
