Moxley Unmasks Pentagon Jr. During Indie Event (w/Video)

Jon Moxley may have lit a fuse for a feud last night that gives wrestling fans yet another reason to swear loyalty to All Elite Wrestling…and choose whether or not to remain loyal to Moxley himself.

Friday night at NEW’s Prison Break, Jon Moxley pinned a white-hot Pentagon Jr. fresh off of fantastic performances in AEW’s first shows along with his partner Ray Fenix. The end of the match featured Moxley unmasking Pentagon Jr. before delivering a Paradigm Shift for the pin.

Both performers are set for anticipated matches at AEW’s All Out on Saturday, August 31. Moxley will face Kenny Omega in a continuation of the issue Moxley started with Omega during his debut at All In. Pentagon Jr. and Rey Fenix will try to outdo their classic with The Young Bucks as they again face the Elite members in a Ladder Match for the AAA Tag Team Championships. Now, however, they may have an unprecedented feud awaiting them.

Jon Moxley and Pentagon Jr. are positioned to be key players in AEW’s ascension. With this apparent disrespect shown by Moxley, AEW now possesses a new creative wrinkle to use as they prepare to debut on TNT on Wednesday, October 2.

Moxley has thus far been presented as a renegade embracing a life and career absent of the “Machine”, a trait that the spirit of AEW and its fans typically embrace. Now, however, he has disrespected a developing legend in Pentagon Jr. along with both the independent and Lucha scene he has spearheaded. Before a single show on TNT has aired, AEW already has a situation that finds fans in control of the treatment of the Jon Moxley character going forward.

Will fans continue to embrace Moxley as he continues to flourish in professional wrestling free of creative shackles? Or will fans align with Pentagon Jr. as he attempts to conquer a crazy man who may not respect tradition as much as we thought? AEW must be salivating having this problem on their hands.
