In 2014 the Mötley Crüe band members signed a “cessation of touring agreement”, which prevented them from touring together beyond the end of 2015. This would mean their last event was at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on December 31, 2015.
It was a cool gimmick for a farewell, but following the success of the Netflix adaptation of their 2001 autobiography “The Dirt” leading to an increase in interest in the band, plus a reported $150 million offer by Live Nation the band are back together.
The band posted the below video on YouTube earlier today showing the contract being destroyed.
Vince Neil, Nikki Sixx, Mick Mars, and Tommy Lee will hit the road next year for a U.S. tour with fellow hard rock acts Poison and Def Leppard.
The lesson learned here is never believe any band when they say they are having a farewell tour.
