Heavy metal icons Metallica have become an investor in TrillerNet, the parent company to FITE, Triller, VERZUS, Triad Combat, Triller Fight Club and more. Metallica performed on Nov. 27 at Triad Combat’s successful debut event at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. The show, a hybrid boxing/MMA/live music event, held fights inside a triangular ring and featured Derek Campos, Frank Mir, Matt Mitrione, Mike Perry and Kubrat Pulev. The show was produced by “American Idol” and “So You Think You Can Dance” producer Nigel Lythgoe.
Metallica’s set was also introduced by legendary boxing, MMA and WCW announcer, Michael Buffer. Fan-filmed video is below.
“Metallica’s music is a natural fit with combat sports, and in Triller, we’ve found the perfect partner,” said Metallica co-manger Cliff Burnstein. “The event opened our eyes to myriad possibilities, and we see greatness ahead for Triller. This investment represents our confidence in that shared future.”
Triller’s other notable music investors include The Weeknd, Snoop Dogg and Lil Wayne.
