Matt Riddle was released by WWE last week, and since then, fans have been debating on social media whether he would be a good fit for AEW or Impact Wrestling. However, it now appears his future could actually be away from the wrestling business, as Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio has reported that at least one major MMA company is interested in working with him.
“I do know that Riddle has got at least one major MMA promotion, if not more, that are interested in bringing him back to MMA.”
Dave Meltzer37-year-old Riddle made his name in MMA via The Ultimate Fighter, making his professional debut during the Ultimate Fighter 7 Finale in 2008, defeating a fellow castmate. This would lead him to build up a victorious UFC record as both a middleweight and welterweight before being released after failing two drug tests within a year. And while he would fight one more time for Titan FC, he would subsequently decide to retire from MMA in 2014 to pursue a pro wrestling career.
