Before the January 22, 2026, episode of Impact, it was reported that the former X-Division Champion Try Miguel was in talks to return to TNA just days after his shock release by AEW. Still, despite the news spreading on social media, most were shocked to see him enter the high-stakes Feast or Fired match, where he secured briefcase #4. This now puts him in a position to potentially earn a title shot or face being fired, which Matt Hardy hilariously acknowledged on X by saying, “TNA has the opportunity to do maybe the funniest thing ever.”
31-year-old Miguel joined TNA in 2018, debuting as part of The Rascalz alongside Dezmond Xavier and Zachary Wentz. The high-flying trio soon became a staple in the X Division. After his teammates left in 2020, Miguel went solo in 2021, capturing the Impact X Division Championship at Bound for Glory and establishing himself as a top talent. Therefore, while his firing by AEW came as a complete surprise, his return to TNA did always seem a possibility given his past time in the company.
