Matt Cardona Shares His Advice For Released WWE Talents

Matt Cardona, known as Zack Ryder in WWE, was released in 2020 following 15 years with the company. And while he could have easily drifted away into anonymity away from the spotlight, he instead reinvented himself and became one of the most successful acts on the independents. So with WWE having now commenced another round of mass layoffs, he has shared his first-hand advice for talents affected, which basically entails following his lead and working their asses off.

Since departing WWE, Cardona has seemingly worked everywhere possible with runs in AEW, Impact Wrestling, NWA, GCW, and MLW. Additionally, he has recently begun working in Japan with DDT Pro-Wrestling. Therefore, he is proof that there is life after WWE for someone who wasn’t a main eventer, but you must be prepared to make the towns and get yourself over.
