Marty Jannetty Shares Heartbreaking Personal News

Over a decade ago, Marty Jannetty revealed that he required surgery on both ankles due to injuries sustained over his long wrestling career. Unfortunately, at the time, he didn’t have either health insurance or the money to pay for the surgery, so he had to soldier on with WWE being unwilling to help. However, while he did eventually get the surgery he required, he has sadly been tormented by complications since. And now he has sadly confirmed on Facebook that he needs to have his leg amputated. Then, to add to his troubles, he also disclosed that his sister had also just passed away.

“I can’t hardly formulate a sentence right now, it’s a tough time in life, yesterday day they told me they want to cut my leg off.. struggling with that my brother called last night and, my sister died in his arms basically. I don’t even know what I’m saying right now. I don’t think I’m doing the podcast show tomorrow night, please forgive me, I do loves y’all..I just can’t. I’m so lost right now.”

63-year-old Jannetty broke into the business in 1983, and his career really took off in 1985 when he began teaming with fellow rookie Shawn Michaels. Then, after impressing fans in both CSW and AWA, the high-flying duo would make their way to Vince McMahon’s WWF, where they would face legendary tag teams like Demolition and The Hart Foundation. Yet, once the duo separated, their careers would go in totally different directions, with Michaels becoming a two-time WWE Hall of Famer while Jannetty bounced around multiple promotions until retiring in 2018.
