In scary news, the former NXT North American Champion Leon Ruff has revealed on Instagram that he and his wife, WWE referee Daphanie LaShaunn, were recently involved ina serious car accident. Thankfully, after hospital treatment, both appear to have suffered no serious injuries, but are sore and shaken, with LaShaunn hurting worse. Sadly, their vehicle was totaled, and Ruff would express a desire to pick up additional wrestling bookings.
Ruff and LaShaunn have been dating since at least 2020, announcing their engagement on November 30, 2020, and getting married on September 5, 2022. The couple, who share a dog named Juni, previously worked together in WWE, but Ruff was released from his contract in 2021. This came as a surprise at the time, as he had just wrestled on 205 Live against Grayson Waller that same night. Subsequently, he would wrestle for AEW in 2022, but failed to earn a contract.
