L.A. Guns bandmates Tracii Guns and Phil Lewis are no strangers to turmoil within their group. The pair famously feuded in the early 2000s, and each had their own versions of the band for a period of time. That being said, they’ve been successfully touring and recording together again since 2016, and there doesn’t appear to be any reports out there of them physically fighting during a show.
Jane’s Addiction have dominated rock headlines over the weekend for all the wrong reasons following singer Perry Farrell’s altercation with guitarist Dave Navarro. Farrell shoulder-checked Navarro on stage and then appeared to take a swing at him. The show ended early, and the band later issued an apology and canceled their next show.
Farrell’s wife Etty Lau Farrell claims the altercation came about due to excessive stage volume from the band claiming the singer couldn’t hear himself, but Guns isn’t buying it.
“I saw Perry Farrell’s excuse,” Guns wrote on X. “It’s bullsh*t and F*ck Perry. Guitar frequencies are directional meaning they point forward only. They do not flood the stage. If it was too loud in his monitors or in ears that is his own fault or monitor engineer failure. He knows this. #assault”
Responding to another post on X where the commenter pointed out that Jane’s Addiction always claimed to be about peace and love, Guns replied: “Talk is cheap. Be the love and peace. I’m very leery of people that preach. People are balanced and it’s natural. Everyone can be nice and everyone can be sh*tty and that’s natural. When you preach peace and love all of the time and then punch your guitar player well f*ck you.”
