On the July 17th, 2017, episode of Raw, Jason Jordan was revealed to be the kayfabe son of Kurt Angle, with this storyline expected to propel him to singles stardom in the promotion. Sadly, though, he would require neck surgery in 2018 and has not wrestled since. Instead, he works as a backstage producer for the company helping other wrestlers put their matches together.
Now, Angle has spoken about Jordan’s current health on his podcast and revealed that despite the surgery taking place several years ago, Jordan still has nerve issues affecting his motor skills. Worryingly adding that, unlike himself, Jordan never gets respite from it, which has left him struggling.
You can’t feel one arm, and you can’t use one arm. That’s what Jason was having trouble with. His disc slid and blocked the nerves to his arm. You know what’s crazy he has problems to this day. His motor skills, his hands are on and off all the time. He just can never get right. I’m not sure why that’s occurring with him because with me, at least, I got relief at times. With him, he’s never gotten relief. He has been really struggling with it for years.
It’s understood that WWE’s goal with the Angle storyline was to make Jordan a main eventer and ultimately be the man that retired Angle at WrestleMania 35. Unfortunately, it appears Jordan will go down in history alongside the likes of Magnum TA and Gino Hernandez as wrestlers that could have been massive stars if not for tragic circumstances. However, more importantly, hopefully, Jordan can get the medical assistance he needs to make his life bearable. As at 33 years of age, he shouldn’t be expected to live the rest of his life in pain.
