Kurt Angle Reveals The Lengths He Went To Get Painkillers During His Addiction

Kurt Angle destroyed his body via both amateur and pro wrestling, and this left him addicted to painkillers for a decade. Thankfully, since 2013, he has been clean and sober after completing rehab following a DUI arrest. And now, during an interview with the True Geordie Podcast, he has revealed the lengths he went to get the amount of pills he needed during this time period.

“I had 12 different doctors that were giving me 12 different scripts of medication. I had to set up a calendar because you couldn’t go to the same pharmacy, so you had to have 12 different doctors go to 12 different pharmacies. So I had all these different pharmacies on my calendar, and then it still wasn’t enough, so I had to buy 500 of them illegally from Mexico. So I was buying 2,000 painkillers a month just to keep my addiction going,”

Ever since he retired at WrestleMania 35, fans have talked about the Olympic gold medalist making a possible in-ring comeback, with it known he has received offers from AEW. However, with it now known that his arms are atrophying and he can no longer feel his fingers, he has wisely turned all these opportunities down.
