After it was announced that WWE had acquired Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, better known to fans as simply AAA, speculation began about who would be booking shows in the future. This led some to think that Konnan, arguably the most well-known member of their creative team, might soon be seeking employment elsewhere. However, during his podcast, the lucha libre legend confirmed he would be remaining, seemingly indicating WWE wants to benefit from his knowledge of the product and vast contacts.

“I am going to be on their creative team.”Konnan

61-year-old Konnan broke into the business in 1987 and, despite his lack of experience, was soon gaining popularity thanks to his look and charisma, with some lucha libre experts likening the fame he garnered in Mexico to that of Hulk Hogan in the US. Still, while Konnan would go on to work in the US himself for WWE and WCW, he never achieved the same level of success stateside, although he was an upper midcarder at times, having adopted a hip-hop-influenced gimmick under the nickname K-Dogg.
