KISS Announce Final U.K. Dates Ever

KISS has been on their “End Of The Road” tour for what seems like forever. Billed as the final chance to see the legendary rockers, KISS has announced what they say will be their last-ever U.K. tour dates. The final U.K. date is scheduled for Glasgow on July 8 of 2023. The band will also perform concerts in Plymouth, Birmingham, Newcastle, London and Manchester.

“All that we have built and all that we have conquered over the past four decades could never have happened without the millions of people worldwide who’ve filled clubs, arenas and stadiums over those years. This will be the ultimate celebration for those who’ve seen us and a last chance for those who haven’t. KISS Army, we’re saying goodbye on our final tour with our biggest show yet and we’ll go out the same way we came in… unapologetic and unstoppable,” said KISS on the “End Of The Road” tour.

There has been wide speculation that KISS could be joined at some point on the tour by original guitarist Ace Frehley and original drummer Peter Criss. Gene Simmons told Classic Rock that the band had reached out to the pair to join, but so far nothing has come of it.

“There are fans that are still angry with us about Ace and Peter,” Simmons said. “They just don’t understand. I personally have asked Ace and Peter a number of times: ‘Hey, this is the last time around. We’ve still got another hundred cities or so to go. Why don’t you jump on stage with us?’ And they said no. . . More than once.”

Paul Stanley also added, “It would be great to have Ace and/or Peter participate at some point if they were interested, and if their requests or demands were realistic and not disruptive to the overall spirit of this tour.”

Simmons also spoke with comedian Dean Delray on his “Let There Be Talk” podcast about KISS coming to a close. At least for the current members, that is.

“We don’t know if it’s [going to be in] New York,” Simmons said of the final curtain call. “I have good reasons why it should be, but the important thing is when it’s the last show, it’ll be the last show. KISS the touring band will stop. But the touring band KISS will continue in other ways. I have no problems with four deserving 20-year-olds sticking the makeup back on and hiding their identity.“

“KISS will continue in ways that even I haven’t thought of,” Gene predicted. “But I can conceive of… You know, the ‘Blue Man Group’ and ‘Phantom Of The Opera’ tours around the world with different personnel. There could and should be a KISS show, kind of live on stage with effects and everything else, but also semiautobiographical thing about four knuckleheads off the streets of New York that ends with the last third as a full-blown celebration, a full-on performance. Not with us. Although not a problem stepping in every once in a while.”
