Saturday night saw AEW’s CM Punk attending New Japan’s Battle In The Valley event in San Jose, California. And while most assume he was attending simply as a fan, there has since been some speculation that New Japan could be in his future. However, how popular he would be there remains to be seen as New Japan’s KENTA would take to Twitter after learning about Punk being in attendance to tease him for stealing his finishes her maneuver, the G2S. Additionally, he would mockingly refer to him as his biggest fan.
It’s well known that KENTA is no fan of Punk, with Punk previously admitted to stealing the G2S, and because of his usage on WWE television, it prevented KENTA from using it regularly when he was in NXT. It should, though, be noted that WWE occasionally permitted KENTA to use the move. Still, after he fractured Brian Kendrick’s orbital bone and nose, management deemed it too dangerous of a maneuver for him to use.
