When CM Punk joined AEW, one of the first matches fans began dreaming about was him against Kenny Omega. However, after Brawl Out occurred, it was evident that the bout would never happen. And now, while playing video games on Twitch, Omega has opened up about that ill-fated night, explaining even as an EVP, he has no power and that during the altercation, his priority was aiding Punk’s dog, Larry. Further, he would reveal regarding his relationship with Punk that “it’s just mutual respect, we reached out to each other.” A full video of this can be watched below.
Omega was one of AEW’s first signings, and while his time with the company has been unforgettable, he has unfortunately missed a considerable amount of ring time due to previously requiring hernia and knee surgeries and is unfortunately currently sidelined with diverticulitis. In addition, he was suspended for his part in the All Out post-show brawl, although from the sounds of it, that was quite harsh.
