Keith Lee & Jay White Appear On AEW Dynamite (w/Videos)

Social Media had been buzzing ever since Tony Khan announced that there would be a surprise during this week’s episode of Dynamite. Names speculated included Jeff Hardy, Bray Wyatt, and even Shane McMahon. However, the most likely was always going to be one of the wrestlers released by WWE last November, and that was the case with Keith Lee debuting against Isiah Kassidy.

The match was a Face of the Revolution qualifying match, and Lee would look incredibly impressive in a four-minute contest, much to the credit of Kassidy’s selling ability. Subsequently, Khan would announce on social media that Lee had officially signed with AEW.

Lee, though wasn’t the only unannounced wrestler to make an appearance on the show, as New Japan’s Jay White would feature in a backstage segment filmed by a production truck. Trent Beretta and Rocky Romero were doing a promo when The Young Bucks, followed by Adam Cole, interrupted them. After a three on two attack broke out, White entered the shot and threw Beretta into the truck as the commentators acknowledged the Forbidden Door being walked through.

Khan would later reveal on Twitter that he added White to the show this Sunday after acknowledging “I butchered my own definition of Forbidden Door in hyping tonight.” Given this, whether White will actually wrestle in AEW remains to be seen. Still, since he is in the county to wrestle Eric Young on Impact Wrestling’s No Surrender show on February 19th, it wouldn’t be surprising if he makes his in-ring AEW debut next week.
