Keiji Muto, also known as the Great Muta, is a WWE Hall of Famer, having been inducted in 2023. Still, despite receiving WWE’s greatest honor, it appears he is far from familiar with the current-day product, as after meeting Solo Sikoa over the weekend, he took to X to share a photo, calling him Jey Uso. Obviously, this would be quickly pointed out to the Japanese legend, and he would delete and repost the photo with the correct name, although confusing two of Rikishi’s sons did cause some minor ridicule online.
For those who didn’t follow Muto’s incredible career, he is considered one of the greatest wrestlers in Japanese pro wrestling history, having held the Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship three times and the IWGP Heavyweight Championship four times. He would also roll back the years at NOAH’s Destination 2021 show at Budokan Hall when he defeated Go Shiozaki to become the Global Honored Crown Heavyweight Champion. And while he has since retired from the ring to many, he remains the face of puroresu to more than one generation of fans.
