Jordynne Grace Apologizes For Her Chris Benoit Tweets

Last week, Impact Wrestling’s Jordynne Grace caused quite a furor on Twitter when she shared her opinion on Chris Benoit. As in addition to saying he should burn in hell, she stated he wouldn’t have been able to hang with the best wrestlers of today. This resulted in plenty of feedback from fans arguing against this take, and Chavo Guerrero Jr. would say she’d lost her wrestling credibility. While Konnan wouldn’t be so polite on his podcast, declaring her an ass and ignorant.

Following the backlash, Grace has deleted her tweets regarding this and instead issued an apology saying it was an “irresponsible and unnecessary tweet.” Additionally, she would reveal that she has reached out to Benoit’s friends and family and decided to donate $5,000 to the Concussion Legacy Foundation.

Discussing Chris Benoit and his influence on the wrestling industry is contentious, with some feeling his incredible talent should be recognized. While in contrast, others say his lethal actions between June 22 and June 24, 2007, will always override what he did in the ring. From a fan’s perspective, it very much comes down to whether you accept Benoit was dealing with CRT and emotional stress caused by Eddie Guerrero’s death or simply believe he was a monster that committed a heinous crime.
